Travel to Switzerland, as do I in August

I have been visiting Switzerland already more than 10 times, maybe in couple of years 15 times. I cannot count it any more...Bern is my favorite city there.

To Switzerland I go in August once again and to Locarno Film Festival in the Italian part of Switzerland then too.

I suppose you know, that there are very many very nice destinations in Switzerland. You should visit them definately. They havemore very nice destinations than you are able to count. For example already from the ancient time touristic destination Graubünden, "Grischun" in Romans. There they speak also Rhaeto-Romance languages .

Or you can take a moment to look to a very famous sports art in Switzerland. No that is not football or hockey which I am talking about here, but floorball or "Unihockey" in German.

I cannot mention all my special tips about Swiss sports, litterature or music here...

... or about food to taste or about regions to visit...

...but when continuing this blog you will here more about some of them.

Maybe some of those tips you cannot find in the touristic books as this one for example. It is among Finns popular Schnapps "Salmiakki" which you can or at least in the old days could find in Zürich too. Some day they used to have it some day not. I tell you more about that later...

Echt super das DAAD Alumnitreffen: Deutsch vernetzt und informiert sein!

Also am 7. und 8. Mai 2015 hatten wir das DAAD Alumnitreffen an der Uni Helsinki.

 

Und waren wir auch während des Treffens in die Deutsche Botschaft Helsinki eingeladen worden. Danke vielmals dafür! Sehr schön und immer ein Genuss, muss ich laut sagen.

Ja kohta kolisee mukavasti: DAAD Alumnitreffen in Finland!

Niin, vajaan viikon päästä entiset DAAD-stipendiaatit tapaavat Helsingissä. Aika mukava juttu, ja hienoa päästä verkostoitumaan samanmielisten kanssa.

Olemme muuten perustaneet tapaamisfoorumin entisille DAAD-stipendiaateille. Lähetä liittymispyyntösi "Finnischer DAAD Verein" -ryhmään FB-sivuilla eli DAAD Lektorat Finnland.  Liitämme sinut mukaan joukkoon! Ja genau!

DAAD järjestää kyllä aika mukavalla sykkeellä näitä Alumni-tapaamisia eri maissa, vähintäänkin 10 vuoden välein ja useamminkin. Suomalaisille joskus yhdessä virolaisten kanssa, ja joskus pelkästään suomalaisille. Jos muistan oikein.

Viimekertaisesta tapaamisesta jäi kyllä mukavat muistot. Perusseminaarin lisäksi oli perinteinen vastaanotto suurlähetystössä, laiva-ajelua ja illallisella esiintyivät muistaakseni Johanna Juhola ja Mia Viljamaa. Ja oli kyllä mukava tavata vanhoja tuttuja ja tutustua uusiin ihmisiin!

In dem deutschsprachigen Raum gibt es gute Krimis. Die skurrilsten kommen aus Österreich und aus der Schweiz , denke ich. Die Geschichten und Hauptcharakter passen gut zu dem trockenen Humor der Finnen...

 
...Hast du mal Krimis von Wolf Haas, Heinrich Steinfest, Stefan Slupetzky oder Thomas Raab aus Österreich gelesen?

...Oder Krims aus der Schweiz....Superkrimiautoren wie der Urs Schaub, Hansbjörg Schneider, Michael Theurillat oder der Martin Suter.

If you are Fan of Cinema you should no doubt visit the Bavaria Filmstadt in München and the Filmpark Babelsberg (Potsdam). And the Filmmuseums in Potsdam, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt (Deutsches Filmmuseum) und in Berlin (in Sony Center). For me it was kind of dream-come-true!

This time the story will be finnished in speaking about carnevals. The one, but not the only one, is of course Kölner Karneval . But I like maybe more the Basler Fasnacht . And even more Karneval der Kulturen in Berlin . Of course the last one is a little bit different kind of carneval...And have you been in Switzerland or Germany 11.11. at 11 O'Clock? Go there and you will see what happens...The 4th Season begins - or...this blog will be resting from now on. For a while...

Nach dieser Geschichte (Teil 1 und 2) eine Pause. Zum nächsten mal wenn nächstes mal in Deutschland/in der Schweiz. Das wird während nächstes Jahr sein. Gewiss!

Well, my all time favourites then...

You should visit Görlitz . In the corner of Germany, Poland and Czech Republik. So kind of funny.
another city in kind of three corners is Basel in Switzerland. In the corner of Switzerland, Germany and France.

You should visit Tübingen . What you will find  there? Lots of students and a nice German town of traditions, as is Göttingen too. Talking about other small university town in German Marburg is worth visiting. In Switzerland by the way Appenzell and Zug . Different kind of towns but both somehow nice.

The Swiss mountains, you will find in every part of Switzerland. and they are nice looked from the air too...Of course the mountains in the sourthern part of Germany and austria are worth seeing. If not looking the views from the top of the mountain, then from the bottom of mountains. Brings you also very nice feelings...

Travelling in German speaking countries by train. Good opportunity to study people and do special kind of sightseeing. Travelling in Switzerland with Postbus, Scenec routes and views . No doubt!

Visiting in Germany and Switzerland interesting Festivals, as in Germany TFF Rudolstadt or in Switzerland Eidgenössiches Schwing- und Älplerfest (every 4th year). So for you international and German Folkmusic of modern and tradtional art and traditional Swiss wrestling/other tradtional Swiss Sport arts.

Pikkujoulut jatkuvat...ja opiskelijat suuntaavat ulkomaille, myös vinkkejä

Eilen oli kyllä mukavat pikkujoulut Saksan kauppakamarilla, ja hyvää ruokaa...Maultaschen, Sauerkraut rot und weiss, Currywurst sekä Stollen-kakkua...nam,nam...

Tuhannet kiitokset kauppakamarille, ja hyvästä seurasta myös. Oletko muuten nähnyt aiemmin konetta, jolla Berliinissä makkara paloitellaan kun valmistetaan Currywurst-annos? Minä en. No, tällainen se on.

Makkarat ja ruoka menivät niin hyvin kaupaksi, että tässäkin kuvassa jäljellä enää pari makkaraa...

No, tämän viihteellisen alun jälkeen ajattelin antaa tässä pari linkkivinkkiä opiskelijoille ja muille kiinnostuneille a la opiskelu saksankielisissä maissa, ja ehkä vähän harjoitteluhommiakin...Saa levittää mielellään eteenpäin...
